We had a Renew program where people signed up to participate. Renew is meant to strengthen parishes, families, and communities through unity and action. The kickoff campaign was huge and very successful, with many parishioners signing up to participate. The energy was infectious, and it brought us closer together. One of the things that came out of the campaign was to have coffee, donuts, and popcorn after the 5:00 pm Mass. The kids loved it, and the families spent time gathered in the courtyard - it was a real energizing time in our parish.
Our first pandemic outdoor Saturday evening Mass was sunny and warm, with children playing on the grass. Jesus was truly with us as we worshipped together. When the weather varied, our community spirit remained strong, whether in coats or shorts.
Father Patrick and fellow parishioners warmly welcomed us when we moved to Camarillo three years ago. I found Father's homilies uplifting and inspiring in the depths of the pandemic. Three years later, I feel blessed to be part of this parish family, my spiritual home.
