Coffee chats after 7:30 am mass on Sundays and SEEDS fellowship and book study with the women of the parish! Summer BBQ potlucks and Mass on the Grass.
I always wanted to teach catechism and one Day I thought about it in the morning before going to mass and then I saw the sign that they needed catechists so I said “this is a sign that I should do it”. So I did it, and now this was my first year teaching it and I loved sharing my knowledge with the kids. They learned so much and I also learned new things! Can’t wait for my second year! If you guys see me, feel free to say hello Miss Mel! :)
I love working with the children in the parish because they have such interesting and intelligent questions about God and faith. As a former school teacher, working with Faith Formation has allowed me to connect with students again in a meaningful way and help those who want to learn more about God. I started because of my children, but this continues to be an enormous blessing to me.
One of my favorite memories at Padre Serra Parish is celebrating the Posadas with my children, family, and friends. Another special memory is witnessing the joy my children shared from the PSP Summer Camps! Additionally, we love Trunk or Treat and these memories which are filled with joy and laughter; exemplifying that our parish is our Home.
I love and look forward to worshipping with the phenomenal choir, especially at the 11am Sunday mass. Building community after mass with "coffee and doughnuts." When my boys were younger, VBS would be an activity we would all enjoy being a part of. We are so blessed to call Padre Serra our home parish, our heaven.
