There are SO many wonderful memories I have at Padre Serra Parish... from receiving sacraments to connecting with others in learning/discussion groups, to meaningful and beautiful holiday celebrations, to serving alongside wonderful people in various ministries! Most recently, I celebrated my 40-year career in the defense industry with a mass, blessing, and fiesta at Padre Serra! The love and community in this parish are a deep source of joy and a call to service in my life!
My favorite part at Padre Serra Parish is praying silently in the adoration chapel with Lord’s presence. Thank you for arranging one on one time with God. May Padre Serra be a blessing to many, and may the good shepherd, Fr. Patrick, continue leading God’s flock with spirit-filled wisdom.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, we were told we could get dirt and put it in a container to bring home as souvenirs. I kept that glass jar for many, many years. I watched the development of the construction of the church, and that was exciting. Another memory was the unveiling of the huge crucifix in the church. The church was full, and there were many reporters taking pictures. I had the opportunity to meet the artist.
